New UTON digital EP:

 

 

"Hengen höyriä, tummia tulia" was recorded, mixed and mastered between 11.7-18.7.2026 using mainly electric guitar and vocals as a sound source + some pre-recorded archive material. All sounds and artwork by Jani Hirvonen / UTON. The artwork includes elements of old karelian handicraft products.

Track titles are written in old Finnish style, translated to English: "In the deep blue of the heart, In the blue’s dark waters, In the spirit of the waters' soul". There is no one explanation to these lines, but together with the sound they are creating a story in listener's own mind.

On that same website, you can also purchase digital versions of UTON & related albums. You may need to make an account first, but it shouldn't be very difficult. I have made this to replace the Bandcamp option (which has too much extra fees for the seller and buyer).  Sadly so far people didn't really find this ko-fi option, and still continue to support Bandcamp and their owner companies - and thinking that it's the best thing to do. 

Now, 10th June 2026, waiting to get the new UTON double cassette released on Philatélie label and the CD of YKSI on AAD (both of these are from the same source, just on different label names). Limited edition lathe cut 10" of UTON also soon available from Darren Tate's label Fungal Records.

UTON - COSMIC ROCK FIESTA

A new branch on an ever growing cosmic tree of Uton. This time tuning into the field of experimental noise rock, with strong psychedelic effects and lofi aesthetics. Doesn't remind almost at all of any other yet released Uton album so far in its outer aspects. First 7 tracks were recorded in October 2025, and the rest of the 5 tracks already in November-December 2022; and featuring Marc Heron on electric guitar! 

Available on CDR, released by Undesired Records, April 2026. Edition of 15 copies.

SISÄINEN SIIRTYMÄ 

Short, under 27 minute album of experimental cosmic synth and guitar music, with sequencer pulses, beats and melodies! Recorded in 2023 and finally released now in the end of March 2026. "This album, or mini-album is a collection of tracks which have some sort of similarity in vibration, and also these tracks didn't fit to the other albums which I was compiling from that era recordings. I called this album "synth pop" album, because it has some pop-style easiness and not so abstract stranger sounds which I was producing around that same time. Somehow this album anyway fits to the line with Uni-O-Mythica, and Awakened Hyperspace, mainly because the same synth was used and its sequencer. The album theme "Internal Transition" came later in March 2026 when I was mixing & mastering the tracks (Finnish word for transition: Siirtymä, is kind of a trendy word used on political agendas...). Title of the album and tracks are some sort of cuts from the thoughts about those certain things which have been rotating in my head in these days; spiritual, psychological, social limitations and feelings & dreams about freedom. The dark age, the light age, a war between on vibrational frequencies; inside & outside. Hard times but we can still feel the life and love, and why not to spread that to our lives (oh yes, of course we also have different views about what is love and good life, so there's again a reason to fight and hate and start wars. When will we actually learn?) - Anyway, enjoy the album. It might not be the best stuff ever on this earth, but it might give some insights and inspiration." - JH, March 27, 2026.

 

 

 

 

WITCHIONARY... album recorded around 2007-2008. I found this "demo" from my archives; listened the tracks and they sounded familiar... but from where? Did I already released these on some other album... or some of these tracks... or what actually happened. The album folder just says Witchionary - so therefor that is the name of this "album" or "compilation" or whatever it is. If anyone familiar to Uton's albums can tell if some of these tracks already appear on some album I would be relieved to know. If someone can point out them all, will get "one of a kind" physical album version of this (shipping included). I have released probably too much already, because I cannot even handle the tracks on my own memory; or is it even "mine" or just an unit of something wider(?). Anyway, the sound here sounds good enough to be released (even again... if so...) - J.H/UTON

New YKSI album available. It's called TWO SIDES (Kaksi Puolta) and it was recorded, mixed and edited in June 2025, mostly at the balcony. Harsh noise meets psychdelic drone with field recordings and all kind of "sound art" hassle & buzzle.

The songs on the album originated in different parts of the outdoors
in July and August 2024 (in Turku and Raisio). The recordings were then assembled at home in the studio, and some older (from last few years) field recordings were added. In the studio, radio frequencies were also added and edited, effected and mastered by various digital and analogue means.
